Celebrating 45 Years of Palliative Care at St. Christopher’s

2012 will mark 45 years since the founding of St. Christopher’s Hospice by Dame Cicely Saunders, leading the way to the development of the modern palliative care movement.

McGill University under the inspired leadership of Balfour Mount has been contributing to the life of this emergent clinical field by organizing the International Congress on Palliative Care, the first of which was held in 1976 with the participation of both Dame Cicely and Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.

We are proud to continue this tradition of mutual exchange and collaboration, and, to honour the work of these pioneers, the 19th Congress will include sessions by members of St. Christopher's team and a Closing Plenary address by Dr. Mount.

Help Us Go Green!

Our objective is to be totally “green” by 2014.

To do so, we must increasingly rely on electronic media to disseminate information on the Congress. Programme information, newsletters and regular updates will therefore be sent by email.

Please help us by ensuring that we have your email address. You may reach us in any of the following ways:

By email to info@pal2012.com

By regular mail. See contact info here

Important note

In an effort to significantly reduce the amount of paper we use for the 2012 Congress, we will make the Detailed Programme available online as a pdf, and will mail a print version only to those who request one.

If you wish to receive a hard copy, please let us know, either by email or by filling out this form.
