To celebrate art as a life-affirming activity for palliative caregivers, the
Congress will once again feature the artistic expression of all interested
caregivers in a public display for viewing throughout the Congress.
All types of visual artistic expression are welcome.
Submission Criteria
- The artist must be a registered participant in the Congress
- The artist must be a palliative caregiver
- All types of visual artistic expression (photo, collage, painting, sculpture, etc) are welcome.
Submission Process: To apply:
- please complete an online submission form for each piece you wish to have considered, including:
- A description of the piece's dimensions and weight
- A brief explanation (approximately 100 words) of the role of art in your life.
- Email a good-quality digital image of your piece of art to art@pal2012.com
Deadline to apply: June 30, 2012
Art Display and Vernissage:
- All submissions which meet the above criteria will be considered. Acceptance will depend on the number of submissions, their sizes and the available space. The final decisions will be communicated by October 9, 2012. All accepted submissions will be displayed throughout the Congress in the Art Display Area, adjacent to the Exhibit Hall.
- A vernissage will be held at the Opening Reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on October 5 during which artists will be invited to informally share their work and its meaning for them with congress attendees and guests.
* Set-up guidelines will be provided at a later date. Standard poster boards will be supplied by the Congress Organizers. Any special display requirements will be subject to approval and may be at the artist's expense. |
